I'm asking a stupid question I know, Embarassed but I thought it would be good to have it here for the benefit of others who may not know or want to ask. Now that I'm on the verge of making more involved changes, can you share the simplest way(s) to back up one's current version of the template. Thanks.

First, I recommend having a complete copy of your website on your own computer's hard drive.  I like to make changes to my local copy and then upload the changed files to my server.

So, if you take this approach — all you need to do is copy the folder on your hard drive, and paste it as "backup 10-17-09" or something else.
