I have my static page set to the storefront grid, but still want to have a tab on the nav bar that says News or blog and those posts will be shown.

Any ideas?  Thanks! Justin

Yes.  Since you set your static front your grid,  you have to create a new page to show your blog posts.  Then in your settings area under "Reading", you've got to select that posts page just created from the dropdown box.
