Hello,
I would like to use the Market theme to sell pdf design templates for
wedding menus. I need to know if Market offers the option to A) have
the customer upload a file of the design they want and B) have a form
for the customer to provide the extra text. Also, I would like to know
if MT allows1010 domain name masking, ie I would like to redirect my
domain name to my wordpress name, without the customer seeing it.
Thanks for your help
There is currently not an upload feature to Market, so in order to do that — you'd have to have some customization coding done for that ability.
As far as the customer providing extra text, Market DOES have the ability for a customer to provide comments on any particular product they are ordering. It is an option that you can turn on or off for each product.
Lastly, I am not familiar with 1010 domain name masking, so I cannot tell you how it would work. Most likely, if it works with Wordpress, it probably will work with Market.

Hello admin,
Thanks for the info. I will just use the market theme and have the customers email me the info once they purchased the template, that way they can also email me designs as attachments.
I am not sure about the "1010" which got inserted in my request, this wasn't what I typed. I was simply asking for domain name masking, which I am assuming can be done with wordpress/MT. Please let me know if that isn't the case.
A quick, last question: I am not sure why I need hosting for my website; I mean, a wordpress blog is free, and MT is just an add-on…am I missing something here? I have held blogs before, and never had to get any extra hosting, so I am just confused here.
Again, thank you for all your help.
Domain masking — If it works with Wordpress, Market theme should not be a problem.
Hosting a blog on Wordpress.com is free, but you can't install themes or plugins on that. You've got to host it with your own hosting account in order to install themes and plugins. (including Market Theme) With Wordpress.COM you are limited in functionality and customization. You have to work within their restrictions.
When you setup your OWN blog on your OWN domain, then you can customize and improve to your heart's content.
(You get the Wordpress software at the .org address — Wordpress.org)
You'll also need your own domain name.
