I want the 'Buy Now' buttons to send the user to a plain old hyperlink. Almost like a gallery. Can this be done?

Plain old hyperlink? Not exactly sure what you are asking…

When clicking “Pay Now”, you get whisked away to an external site in a new windows. Think affiliate link.

Maybe it's simpler if I ask…
How are the Buy Now buttons created? Do you copy and paste in your product link from Paypal?

No. You set the price with a custom field (ex: 25.00 for $25). Everything else is done for you. Your paypal email address is set to whatever your admin email address is in the Wordpress backend, the product title is pulled from the post title, etc. The buy now image is added to any product post automatically.
Basically, it is a paypal generated buy now code with the values for each field dynamically generated w/ custom fields.

Let me add to this discussion with a question as that answer does not really answer the question.
If you are not using Paypal, but are running an affiliate site, can you change the buy now button so you can send the person to the affiliate site with a absolute link instead redirecting them to Paypal? I am sure I can just strip out the buy now button, but would like to use it if possible.
Thanks!

Edit: Code moved to “How To”

There is a much easier method of doing this which will only require you to enter the affilate url in the “value” for the buy key, rather than posting all of the link code each time. I'll update it after school with instructions.

Excellent. I knew you would have a more elegant solution. Thanks!

The solution has now been posted in the How To section.
