I'm not willing to spend any money unless I can actually try the product out. It would be nice to see the template code too before buying… but anyway. So… could you add access to the wordpress backend for your demo site? We're really only getting half the picture. I've watched the demo video… but it's not the same as actually playing with the real interface.

Takeo,

The reason there is no demo of the backend is because there isn't much of a backend. If you can write a post in Wordpress, you can add a product. I'm not sure if you've seen the full screenshot of the actual “add product” panel, but if you haven't take a look here: http://www.markettheme.com/wp-content/themes/default/images/mpm.png

As you can see, if it basically a modified write post page which has room for the custom fields so you do not need to be a wordpress pro to understand what goes where. First things first, you set the title and main description (post body) of the item. You then set the price and any other additional details (if they exist). For example you do not need to set size or colors if there aren't any. The best part about the whole market product manager plugin is when it comes to adding product images. When you open the upload toggle on both the Main Product Image and additional product images, you'll be able to upload the image instantly using ajax. Once the post is published, all of the information is populated into the right custom fields, so as easy as it is to create a new post you just created a new product.

The demo site is where I test and work on all of my wordpress themes, including client work, so I really do not want to give out admin access.

I too think that a screenshot is not sufficient to get all information. In a demo I can make a test upload to see how a test product will look like.

Your demo video says the images are meant to measure 300 x 300 px .. what if my images are not square images but require a max width rather than a fix width? You cannot retrieve these informations from a screenshot. Not everybody is selling t-shirts. How will it look like if I enter other attributes in the size field. This is what admin demos are for and I too think it would be a good idea if you install a separate demo test site which is quite common for ecommerce software. I doubt many are willing to spend $55 just to see if the shop meets their requirements.

And for your information peura, not everything will be answered in the admin demo either. Images do not have to be square. These are all issues other customers have had and with minor code changes all detailed in the “how to” section of the forums for current customers have modifications that meet just about any store need and special circumstance.

Enjoy the demo :)

Hi AJ,

thanks for the demo. But could it be that the “add product” tab is missing?

Many thanks for the info and the demo installation AJ. I understand that there is not much too it… basically the same as writing a post… but it still will be a great benefit to be able to play with it. Many thanks.
