My product requires a lengthy form to be filled out by customers. Can Market Theme accomodate this and attach it to the sales orders?
Thanks,
Craig
Hi Craig,
It doesn't have that functionality built-in, however it's probably something that a coder could do for you.
If the information is something the customer could complete AFTER the sale, then I believe all you'd need to do is to modify the return URL in the single.php file so that it would return to your lengthy form upon returning from Paypal.
Other than that, it's something you'd have to customize.

This is my delima also.
Essentially we need to collect accurate information about a customer (large form) get them to agree to specific terms and conditions (again a large document – webpage) and then take payment to start to produce the product for them.
My concerns revolve around this information and what I will need to do with this package to provide enough fields to collect it and being able to organize it so that it is easy to complete.
Then there is the sign off on the terms.
Can you give me some feedback on the development of these aspects? I am not in a position to spend the time learning a lot of coding to complete the project so it is important that I have an idea of the costs of completion, not just the base theme.
As of right now, there's not anything scheduled for that type of funtionality. Right now, Paypal gathers all of the customer information.
We are developing a feature that will display a "Special Instructions" or "Comments" box on the product page, so if someone needs to include some input on the product (such as personalization of a name or something) — it will allow it. This isn't quite ready yet, as it's a few items down on the devlopment list, however it's something that's coming.
As far as agreeing to "terms & conditions", you could probably just include a javascript function in the final shopping cart display that requires them to check a box in order to proceed to checkout. The checkbox could say something like "I understand the terms & conditions" and have a link to your terms and conditions page. If they try to checkout without checking the box, it would prevent the form from submitting. This type of action shouldn't be too complex.
The ability to accept "non-paid" orders, for manual processing offline is now available. This orderform can be customized to suit your needs.
