I currently have a store right now, paid over 4,000 for it with add-on features, selling filters – sales were e-commerce but now are affiliate sales.

My question is how is the SEO on this theme.  There are a lot of things e-commerce stores can do and I wonder how it can be that a  Wordpress site can work as well or better, or maybe it doesn't.  I'm with visible.net.  Yet I know they are very Google-friendly.  Have people been having luck competing against well SEO'd e-commerce sites?

A last question that is probably yes -can the "New" products at the bottom of the page on your market theme be changed to "Featured."

Thanks!  I'm nervous and excited about a change to more user friendly site.  And I would really enjoy the control – tired of a webmaster.  And it's a $100 a month cost versus less than $10 hosting!

Thanks.

In general, Wordpress sites are very well liked by Google.

Market Theme works pretty good in terms of SEO. In the download package, is a copy of the "All-in-one SEO" plugin. I definitely recommend using it.

One of my own Market Theme sites is doing pretty well on Google for it's primary search term. (#1 right now)

"iphone protective case"

The site is "iphoneprotectivecase.com", so it's not a huge example of SEO, but it is #1.

Also… You can change the "New" products wording to "Featured" by changing the text in the "English.php" file. That file contains all of the text for the site. One thing to note, the "New products" area shows the products with the most recent date as the post date — so just set the ones you want "featured" to have the newest dates.

My advice would be to test out Market Theme with a new project before you commit transferring your other ecommerce store.
