shop without any paying mechanism

hello,

i would like to setup an online gallery/shop in which users could view my products and place orders, though i'm not interested in giving the option to purchase an item online, but rather simply receive an email notification whenever someone's trying to order something through the shop. so basically, instead of paypal or any other paying possibility, users could pick an item, click order, and thereby send an order request message to my email.

could i tweak Market to behave like that? could i get rid of the Paypal method and simply make it send me an email with the order information instead of processing it via paypal?

will appreciate your advise!

kind regards,

P.

Hi,

Sure, Market could be tweaked to do that.

First, you'd need to edit the code to remove the "view shopping cart" links.  Here's a forum post on how to do that:

Second, you'd need to modify the "add to cart" button to link to an online information submission form, rather than our shopping cart system.

You would need to create the online form for the user to fill out, and submit — but you might be able to find a WP contact form plugin out there that you could modify.

Hope this helps.

The ability to accept "non-paid" orders, for manual processing offline is now available.  Also added, is the ability to simply display your product catalog, with all shopping cart references and buttons removed.

Read more about it here:
