Windows Server + IIS platform - compatibility

The Question:-

Do you know if the Market Theme runs okay on a WIMP (Windows + IIS + MySQL + PHP) set-up?

The Background:-

I have been scouring the web for some decent themes to use in a couple of new projects and I have been trying out a number of them on my local installation of WordPress, which is Windows XP machine with WordPress installed by the Windows Platform Installer (courtesy of those kind folks at Microsoft).

I have found that a few of the themes don't work. Two of them just white-screened and the php error log file reported syntax errors in the them code. But it is evident they are out there in the wild and working fine – presumably on a LAMP stack. So maybe there is some non-conformity in the different builds. (I had installed the WIMP stack by hand and got one of these errors so tried it the Microsoft way, but the same problem occurs.)

The hosting solution I use is essentially a Windows Server platform. It does support PHP 5 and MySQL 5 and WordPress out of the box, but it is nevertheles Windows.

This Market Theme looks great but I am concerned that my hosting solution is going to be a challenge.

I don't think your hosting platform would have problems, however I can't be sure for your local installation.

We have tested Market Theme on a local Wordpress install we setup that operates on XAMPP and it does just fine.

If it turns out it doesn't work, just let me know and I'll make sure you get a refund.

Many thanks for this.

The target hosting platform is a Windows Server 2003 with IIS (probably IIS 6.0). So it is not XAMPP.

The XAMPP reference was regarding testing on a local machine.

If your hosting platform offers PHP functionality, then you should be fine.

You can find out for sure by putting in a test install of Wordpress onto your hosting account.  That's a free download, and if you can get that to work — Market Theme will not be any issue.
