Change the background and text colour on the vertical category menu list

I have followed the readme set up for market theme however for some reason I cannot find anywhere to amend the background colour or text for the category menu that lists all my categories on the left hand vertical column.  This does not seem to be included anywhere on the initial market theme set up page and at the moment my website shows the default colour/text when I've managed to change the rest of my website to blue.

Also, is there a way of removing the text that appears on each page showing where you are (located below the banner image and in the main frame) e.g. http://www.mmmmm.co.uk > store > furniture.

Finally, the images don't seem to be working – do i need to resize images before uploading them?  On the product pages I see error text where the image should be and only see the image when i click on that error.

Thanks and apologies for the basic questions, this is all new to me!!!

Colors are mostly changed through the stylesheet files.

If you are using the default style, then you'll modify the "style.css" file in your Market Theme files area.

If you are using a built-in style selector dropdown box from the Market Theme settings area, then you'll edit the "mkt_style.css" file located in the specific custom-style folder that you've selected.

If you're not familiar with how to edit stylesheets, than I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the free add-on for the Firefox browser called "Firebug".  It makes locating styles, testing styles, and all other things stylesheet related very easy.  It even tells you what line number a particular style element is located on.

Can't say enough good things about "Firebug".

Oh yeah, it's also free.

(ps. if you provide a valid link to your site, I can tell you for certain which stylesheet file to change.)

Thank you that helps.  The biggest problem I'm having at the moment is with the images that are being used for each product.  Every time I try to attach an image I get a phpthumb error.  Any ideas?  I've tried resizing the images to reduce the size of them but that doesn't seem to help.

Thanks again!

Can you provide me with an example of a page showing the phpthumb error?

If not, how about the error message you get?

Hi,

The error says:

phpThumb() v1.7.9-200805132119

Error opening "http://localhost/wp-content/uploads/marketimages/img_20402.jpg":

Connection refusedCURL available but returned no data; Warning:fopen (http://localyhost/wp-content/u….._20402.jpg)

[function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Connection refused in /Users/maryrobinson/desktop/wordpress/wp-content/themes/mk4/phpthumb/phothum.functions.php on line 796; "allow_url_fopen" enabled but returned no data

If I click on the error then it brings the image up in a new small screen but is not in the thumbnail image.  This has happened each time I've tried to add a new product – the image are loading up absolutely fine in the other areas like the front page icon and banner so not sure whats going on.

Many thanks

Maybe try changing the "Image Path URL" setting to "relative" in the Market Theme settings area.
