I know how to change the logo, but don't know the background around the logo. I don't know how to change it. I want to put a background image around the logo. how do i do that?

In your stylesheet file  (style.css), find the element named:

#bar .barhead

Add a property underneath it that goes something like:

background-image:url('/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/my-image.jpg');

And then just change the name of the image, and make sure the path is correct.

Save the file, and that should do it.
