Password protecting product

Is it possible to restrict the ability to purchase an item using password protection?  I have implemented the password to restrict access to the product, but it's still showing the shopping cart icon and allowing purchase without the password (even though it won't let you view details).

(What I REALLY want to do is have product post to specific (hidden) pages that are only accessible with a password.  I'd like to have something like a client login system so that companies/agencies who have placed special order items can have their employees go online to order the items.  However, it seems that wordpress doesn't allow that Cry- so I'm trying to come up with an alternative.)

You'll probably need to modify the "single.php" file somewhat to make it so that only logged in users can see.

I'd do some research on the topic on the Wordpress site.

This might get you going:

Because I'm so new at this, I'm avoiding all the php stuff.  I want to learn that at some point, but right now I just want to get a basic site up and running without killing it (which I did manage to do once already Laugh.)

I found that I was able to create a client page that is password protected, and associate posts with it using the Post Page Associator plugin.  Then I installed the WP Hide Post plugin and the WP Hide Category plugin so that the items being sold on the client page can't be seen from the front page – you have to go to the client page and login before you see them.

Thanks to plugins that are simple and do what they promise, I'm happy to say that my tricky issue is resolved.

Well there you go!

I love plugins like that too. That's one of the greatest things about Wordpress, is that you can still have plenty of customizing, without changing the core files.
