I'm done with Paypal, so I can't use e-junkie anymore because that's how they bill customers... That said, I'm going to use the MK's new digital products utility in version 4.4. Now, I've followed the old notes on changing from Paypal to Google Checkout, but nothing's changed in the MK Settings window.  What to do now?

The Google checkout modification works directly on the files, and doesn't come up in the Settings area.

After you've done the mod, then check your checkout page and see if Google checkout is showing up as it's supposed to.

Thanks Eli... I did a test and it went to Paypal's checkout cart. In the settings area, what's supposed to be checked or not checked? There's no way to tell the system that you want to use the check out cart unless you pick Paypal or one of the other choices.

Eli, I've read the old posts and don't want to fiddle around with the cart.php file too much. What's the fix from my earlier posting? I'm dead in the water until this is worked out... Thx

There are some modifications needed to the "cart_bottom.php" file.  That's the portion that adds the Google checkout option to the checkout area.

Changes are needed as well to "cart.php" for functionality purposes.

As long as you make backup files before you start, you should be ok following the mod instructions.

Eli, I made those updates for Google Checkout in cart.php and cart_bottom.php. I have two issues:

1 - Paypal is still showing up as an option at the bottom. I don't want the Paypal option to show at all.

2 - the checkout cart is not working. When you select an item and choose Continue Shopping, you lose what's in the Cart.

Help... Confused

If you don't want the Paypal option showing up, then just unclick the Paypal option in the Market Theme settings area.  In the admin area, it's under the Market Theme menu tab.  Click 'settings'.  Change it there, and save.

If the cart is not working, I can help -- but I need to see what it's doing first hand.

Can you please provide a link to your site so I can try it myself?

Sure, its http://digitaljobaids.com.  I'd already fiddled with the settings; when you click Paypal "off", you lose the cart button completely... No way to pay for the product listed.

Try the changes on post #24 on this page:

Let me know if this helps.

Yes I've done all of that previously. You've circled back around to the start of this thread...

Sorry...  didn't know for certain if you'd made it that far down on that post.  The code in that later post is different than the beginning of it.

The portion that says to add this line of code:

if (1==1) {

is supposed to ensure that the option for Google checkout still show up.

Did you make that addition?

Eli, no I don't think I saw that last line... I will enter that in, test, and let you know what comes of it... Thanks.

Eli, rather than the patchwork updates, why not just update the theme ASAP to account for what we need? Its too messy otherwise. Its been a month trying to do all of this, and I'm losing opportunities. I will have no other choice but to move on to another theme if we can't get this fixed here quickly. That said, I'm using the MK for about four sites, and I will need Google Checkout to work singlehandedly on all of them.

Yes, I think you're right.  Better off to just make the modifications to a new version release with Google already in.

Google checkout started out as a fringe option, but has become bigger since.

I'll talk with our developers and check into making the change.
