Using "Insert More" Tag when creating a post

Hi there –

I would like to be sure that not all of my product detail shows up when a product is listed in the "New Products" section.  I thought that the way to manage this was to add an "Insert More" tag at the place in my product post where I want text to stop showing.  Then, when a person clicks on the "more" link they'll be taken to the full product page & will see all the text.

But I don't seem to be able to get that "Insert More" tag to work.  I am probably doing something wrong.  Could use some guidance.

Here's my site to show example:  http://www.wakeupbutterflies.com

Also – bonus question… can you tell me where to go to change the words "New Products" on the front page to something else ("Just Added")?

Thanks – teresa

Market Theme is actually setup to show an "excerpt" of the description, so the <!–more–> tag is really not needed.  Market Theme won't show the entire description.  (Unless it's just shorter than the excerpt length.)

As far as changing the text, there's a file named "English.php" that you can find through the Wordpress Theme editor tool in the "Appearance" menu in the administration area.  That file holds all of the website text that isn't part of a product.

Just open the file, and do a search for "New Products", and then just change the text to what you want.

Same issue here except for the regular product listing page.  I want to make sure visitors click on "View Details" so they get to the detail page where the shopping cart is located.  Is there any way I shorten the default excerpt length?

Thanks!

In the product listing page, you'll have to just stop the description and make it look like there's "more" if they click the View Details button.

You should be able to find ways to shorten the "excerpt" length by doing a google search for "wordpress shorten excerpt".
