A few questions

Hi there,

I’m very impressed with WordPress Market and we are currently considering buying it for our webshop. However, I have a few questions about some features, which I hope you can help me with.

  1. In your demo shop you have product features like size and colour. Are these set or can I change these, e.g. instead of colour have a product feature named ‘width’ or ‘pattern’.
  2. We would offer a customized product so we need a form before or within check out where customers can type in their personal message (e.g. t-shirts with an individual slogan). Is it possible to implement this?
  3. In your demo shop I saw products with different prices according to the product features. However, the basic price doesn’t change, only additional costs are shown in the Dropdown Menu, Is it possible, that the basic price changes, when a certain product feature is selected. Lets say a products cost $10 in Size S, but when customers select Size M the price change to $12?

Your help is very much appreciated! Cool

1. Yes, you can actually change the text of these dropdown boxes very easily. There is a language file named "English.php" that contains all of the text of the whole theme. Very easy to change. (There are also a spanish, french, italian, and german files if you want to setup in a different language.)

2. In the Paypal checkout screen, there is a "add instructions to seller" box, but nothing yet on the product page itself. However, this feature has already been suggested to us, and we're in the process of adding this ability. It's not ready just yet, but is coming.

3. That's the way it works in effect — you can make options add to, or subtract from the base price. When you click the "Add to Cart" button, the adjusted price shows up.

I hope this helps.

thanks for your input. is there a timeline yet for the "instructions-form" you are working on? not that I would want to nail you down on it, but it is a crucial feature for us, so we would need to know if it's worth waiting for it or if we need to find a different shop system (so far I love wp market, so please, dont disappoint me! ;-)

If it can be done, we'll try to get it integrated within about a month or so. I don't have an exact timeline right now, but it's high on our "wish list".

We've got a major development right now that's just about to get wrapped up. Probably one more week with that one. After that, we'll start work on the "special instructions" area.

The big question, is if Paypal will let us pass the data during checkout. If so, then the change itself shouldn't be too long. If not — it may not be able to come at all.

If you want to contact us in a few weeks, I'll probably know more.
