Blog Functionality?

Does the market theme have normal blog functionality? I see the pages and the store, which looks amazing by the way, but I don't see anything about the normal blog functions (categorys, comments, archive). Does the Market theme have this?

Thanks in advance. And keep up the good work.

Jeff

Thanks for the kind comments Jeff. Yes - the theme does have the ability to have normal post content. In the download center there is a download pack called "Market Plus" which restores normal blog posting abilities on top the market itself (much like http://www.caferoyal.org/). I'm working on tighting this version up in the coming weeks as well.

Thanks for the quick response AJ. Any idea when the authorize.net connection will be set up? How will that function? Are you building a full fledged shopping cart into the market theme? Or will it just be a way to connect to the Authorize gateway to accept payment details?

Right now it is just going to be a way to accept payments with Authorize.net as well. I'm still waiting on them to approve my developer test account so I can test the code - it's been a few weeks, it's getting quite annoying. I may have to apply again pretty soon.

So just some sort of info capture that will then submit the details to authorize.net for processing? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm in the planning stages of a new business idea and I'm trying to get all my options sorted out. Your Market WP theme is killing the competition right now, but I'll definitely be using Authorize.net so I just want to try and make sure I'll have everything I need. And yeah authorize.net can be quite slow...that is unless they think youre going to give them moeny! 😉 Thanks again.

Hah, no problem at all 🙂

Basically with the Authorize integration, the current buy now button that directs to Paypal will direct to Authorize. You'll have to edit 1 php file that sets your ID number (which you get when you sign up with Authorize), and everything will be pulled dynamically depending on the item (price, quantity, etc). Of course if you want to use Paypal and Authorize side by side there will just be two different buy now buttons.

Cool. Thanks! maybe you should start a petition to authorize.net to speed the process up! I'll sign it!

Hey AJ,

One more question. I've now bought the theme and just started to play with customizing it. Is there a way to enable comments for the posts? I've been looking at the code around the blog posts addition to the market theme and it seems that wp uses quite a few variables to call things like posts and categories. Is there a variable to add comments for each post?

Thanks for the help!

Jeff
