Hi

I have a few ?s about what can be custom set up and if it is hard to do.

#1 Can i use the home page side thumbs to show a image for each store categorie in place of new items?

(If yes) can i make it only show one thumb image across so each thumb is running down the side of the page. Like 10 categorie thumbs running down the right side or as many as i have?

#2 If i can set the categories to run down the side or the new items can i expand the blog post area to be wider then so i can post larger post blog images for storys?

#3 will this work with all standard WP plug ins i use a lot of them?

#4 in the store page view can you add a list of categorie links to the bottom of the page?

Same with each categorie page can you add a categorie links to the bottom of the page to make it more easy for a customer to find things.?

#5 can i resize the site to any size wide? if so how

#6 How would i replace the top banner area with my own? Can mine be taller like 300 pix tall

#7 do you have any drop down menu items built in ready to use?

Thanks

Ok, here are some answers for you…

#1 & #2.  Not yet, however that ability is in process right now too.  Wordpress doesn't have a built-in function for showing thumbnails for categories, so we had to create that.  We have completed the prototype code, and have it functioning properly — however the visual appeal has not been addressed yet, so it's in a raw form as far as the display goes.

We've got some basic code that creates a new menu area to manage category thumbnail images, and another website page template that displays clickable category thumbnails.

This will hopefully be released in a few weeks.

However if you're skilled at coding — send me a PM and I'll send you the function to add to your "functions.php" file and another frontend page with some raw code that you can grab and integrate yourself.

To address another part of your question, in the "Market Theme" settings area of your WP admin dashboard you can change the settings so that there is only 1 thumbnail per row on the index page.

You can also set the page and column widths there as well.

#3.  Market seems to work with most plugins, however in our history there have been a few that caused conflicts.  The two I can think of are one that does a rotating images called "featured content gallery".  It basically has a conflict with "litebox" which Market utilizes.  There are other rotating gallerys out there though.

The other plugin was one that added dropdown menu boxes to the navigation.  I don't remember what it was called, but I'm sure there are a bunch of other plugins like that, that do the same thing — but may not cause a conflict.

Mostly, we haven't run into many plugin conflicts.

#4. There is a small code change to enable the category sidebar.  Then, a followup change to the "functions.php" file for page formating.  There is a "how to" post floating around the forums somewhere with exact instructions.

#5.  Yep..  In the Market Theme options area.

#6. There is an easy "logo upload" tool in the same options area.  You can use that, or change the stylesheet (style.css) so that your header background shows your top banner.

#7.  No, no dropdown menu system integrated.  As I said earlier, there are a bunch out there that should work fine.  Here is an example site someone customized and uses both dropdown menus and a rotating images as well.

Does anyone know of a dropdown menu plugin that works with MK4?

Thanks,

Mike

The "PixoPoint Multi-level Navigation Plugin" was mentioned before.

Here's a link:

I haven't used it yet, but the other member seemed to have some success with it.
